Hooray for Rochester, and for butlers and chauffeurs everywhere!
Back then, a good quality sege suit would set you back between 9 and 15 dollars.
Does gildy think that a kid’s family comes before his friends, just like June cleaver does?
Poor Leroy.
Ok, now I’m trying to picture Ronald Colman as a banjo player…hilarious 🤣
Classic . 💥🤣💥👍
Excellent
7:30 jack is snappin
I used to listen to them every night
👍❤️📻😊
❤️👍📻😎
❤️👍📻😎
THANKS very much for uploading. One of the BEST radio comedies. Surprised it was still running on the air in 1955. I looked it up and it ran on CBS's radio network til 1957. Since it started in '48 it had a nine year run. Impressive!
Herman was useless and unfunny
Jimmy Cash was one of the worst singers on any of these old time radio shows.
Just watched the movie on TCM and needed to hear this JB show again. Thanks for making it so easy to find.
🎙 🎉 🥰 😃
Different type of show but still fun.
One of my favorite episodes! Nothing can cheer an old feller like me better than *Fibber McGee & Molly!*
~2:17, "... Rube Goldberg contraption ... " *To most of us the term "a Rube Goldberg contraption" is meaningless. By 1928 the term "Rube Goldberg" was regularly being used in printed publications to describe over-engineered elaborate mechanical contraptions. In 1966, it appeared in Bennett Cerf's Random House Dictionary of the American-English Language meaning "having a fantastically complicated improvised appearance," or "deviously complex and impractical."*
❤👍📻
No no
24:15 it’s ‘cause Rochester has friends and relations in New York.
I’m glad I’m not a butler, or a janitor, or anything of that nature.
👍❤️📻
I'm just donatin my time
👍❤️📻
12:57 🤣 I love Mr. Kitzel
Classic episode 💥🎯💥
👍❤️📻😊
❤️❤️📻❤️❤️👍👍
Minus the war, this is the America I wish I had experienced; Although, we Baby Boomers had it pretty darn good compared to subsequent generations.
What was their source of income??
I love the shows in 1942. I t was the worst year of the War. They are the happiest, and funniest. I just know they helped the nation pick up its spirits. Grace is just amazing. Thanks. JIM
You only need to see someone else’s movies once
The tradition of giving your teacher a nice red apple was alive and well when I was a schoolboy, but that was 55 years ago, I believe it's long gone now. Today kids bring loaded guns to school not apples!
Thanks, as always, for uploading another fun episode! Ronald & Benita were always wonderful guest stars!
I’ve been listening to Jack Benny almost every night as I go to bed for years, since I was pretty young. thank you for compiling all these and keeping them online. This episode in particular is one of my favorites, I have memories of listening to it at my old childhood house. Great showcase of some of the show’s best occasional characters.
In 1992 KNX news radio here in L.A. would play Jack and the gang every Sunday night. This episode was the first one I recorded and is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting again!
Let’s retire “Danny Boy” to ONE day a year. Four days before the 17th no exception.
Loved this one so much.
My mom worked as a machinist at GeneralDynamics during the war.
It's interesting to know how many classic radio shows involved married couples in real life. Fher McGee and Molly were the real life Mr. and Mrs. Jordan. Fred Allen's 's wife Portland was a regular on that radio show. Jack Benny's wife Mary Livingston was a regular on the Jack Benny program, and then of course there was George Burns and Gracie ALAN
Hilarious.
"I'm an ol" cowhand..." just delightful!
The two headed man is the funniest thing 😂
I love the hair jokes! Mary tells Jack to “stop running your fingers through your hair just put it on!” 😂
Was this their first show?
Funny, funny episode! Too bad some of the lines were hard to understand like one of Rochester and one of the telephone operators lines
The Christmas Shopping episodes were the best!
